Well the search started on May 1st 2005 and I trawled every horse for sale ad I could find. I tried out 5 horses, fell off two, one was just not suitable (bad manners on the ground alone) and the other was too young and green and frightened. That left Garbo - the last one I saw - a Palomino Swedish Warmblood. I had him vet checked 5 days after I first saw and rode him, and took him home the following day. It was a 4 hour trip back for him in the float but he was a dream - munching on hay and looking at the green grass passing him by.
Once at home he was so excited to see all the other horses at the farm - he rolled in the mud about 15 times! He has settled in really well and since bringing him home I have found all his relations including pictures of his mother and father and I have met his half sister. He was born just 5 minutes down the road!
