

Fiona said that he needed some excitement in his day and that if he wasn't exposed to it naturally then he would make some excitement for himself by spooking at silly things. When they spook they get an adrenalin rush and then endorphins are released so they actually feel better afterwards once calm again. This made perfect sense - because once I moved into the current grazing I didn't take him out so much because everything I need is at home. ie arena etc.
So what we needed to do was everyday add something unfamiliar to his day.
We started with a car windscreen protector - one of those flurocoloured fold up ones. He didn't appear to be nervous of it and Fiona rubbed it all over him - "be sure to do both sides so both eyes see it" Fiona says.
