The boys had their feet trimmed by Jools today and I gave them a groom - then just before dinner I put their new Shires covers on them. I have decided to go back to non combos so their mane doesn't get rubbed off - they have a better fit round the neck too.
These are only 100g which I think really is enough. I take them off in the day at the moment too unless it's peeing down.

Hi Vicki, How do you find the shires covers or is it too soon to tell? Have you used them before? I used Fal in the UK - expensive but v good and fitted my big horse. I've gone for canvas plus neck covers here as Cameo launches into the others if they don't move when she asks andcanvas is tougher. But they are SO heavy on days like today - bet you are glad trimming was yesterday (I did Cam)but I suppose with covered yards it doesn't matter. Looking forward tohaving some for next winter!
