Ok - Kim wants more info!!
Well - since we are moving to our own land mid April, when Blue died I realised I would need a new friend for Garbo (and I didn't really have a whole heap of time to find one) - there is no way he could go there by himself - too mean and he would freak out - especially after being part of the herd (although in seperate paddocks) at Wendis. So then I thought well if I am going to get a new horse, then it would be nice to get one without baggage. No issues to speak of, and start his training from scratch! Then I thought - always wanted a paint horse.
So started looking on Trade Me, in the Horse Trader, on Horsetalk etc - didn't really find alot - so called Weiti Station - they have an auction coming up on April 20 (too late for me) - and she said she had some geldings that would mature 16hh+ - so I went out for a look.
Of course - now I need a babysitter for the youngster (in case I take Garbo out) - (I had always planned on getting a friend for Blue for our move anyway).... hence the possibility of adopting a Kaimanawa mare.
I'll probably get Maraschino delivered in a couple of weeks.
A bit about me (Vicki) and my horses and what we get up to. One of my horses is a Palomino (called Garbo) born 16th Sept 1997, and my baby is a Skewbald gelding called Maraschino born 4th October 2006. Then lastly I rescued a mini called Coco.
