Gosh - suddenly we are making progress. Garbo nickers at me now and comes running up to the gate when I arrive - it's very cute! He is no longer too stressed when other horses leave him, and I have now loaded him by myself onto the float three times in a row. We have finished our lessons for now with Fiona Cameron (ground lessons) - Fiona was so cool - she works calmly with the horse and you learn how to really read your horse so that basically you don't have to tell them off all the time - much nicer - you anticipate and distract or stop the unwanted behaviour before it happens.
We started dressage lessons with Wendi Williamson - he was bridle lame from his last owner so we are working on that now. Maybe we will score a bit higher in the next dressage day! The frustrating thing about being a beginner in competitions is that experienced riders enter young horses into the same class as me - I wish there were classes for those who have only entered 10 or less competitions - or something like that. Just to get us started.
