Second weekend of making horse treats - tried another recipie. I had to add more oil and more flour but all in all I was pleased with the result. Last weeks treats were very popular (lip licking good) so I hope these are as popular.
Horse Oat Cookies
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup oil (I used safflower)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon milk (used soy milk)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla (had none as used last of it making vanilla and blueberry pancakes for breakfast!)
1/4 cup uncooked regular oatmeal
About two small or one large grated carrots
Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on an oven tray with non stick cooking paper. Bake for 15 minutes and cool for one hour.
I also added flaxseed (ground) and some rolled oats. I just can't make something and not change it - get that from my grandmother apparently.
