Forest ride
It was supposed to clear in the afternoon today so I planned a trip to the forest but Donni couldn't make it so I tagged along with Amber and Jenny. Garbo was really cool - he was happy at the back of the three or in the middle, and he would have been ok in the front too. Jenny's horse was very excited about being in the forest but Garbo was pretty cool about not getting worked up by that which I was pleased about. We rode for over 2 hours and poor old Garbo was a bit tired by the end but it's so good for him - we walked up and down hills and for miles. The hills he was puffing because we were walking only which is quite difficult for them - so he may be a bit sore tomorrow. Then we had to go down this really steep slippery clay bank - I saw the other two sliding and I was like "oh no I don't want to go down there" but they were already on their way so feet forward eyes up and I let Garbo choose where he wanted to go - and we made it safe and sound! Amber helped with yelling instructions at me on the way down - thanks Amber! Didn't want to do it again (the steep clay slide) in a hurry but I was proud of Garbo and myself for doing it without any problems. It was a great afternoon riding. Garbo had a hose down back at the forest and then he was pretty pleased to get back on the float and eat some hay on the short trip home.
